Next Sunday - Ideas please!

Ok - might as well start the ball rolling early in the week - any ideas for next Sunday? Iveagh Gardens has been proposed by Sara - if weather is fine could be lovely.

Do we have an alternative nearby if the weather's bad?

Nope but if you can think of anything please post!!

Can't think of anything indoor other than the National Gallery but sure let's be optimistic and pack the sun screen.

Well, Pat, there is always Dicey Rileys in Harcourt St. where we often meet up later. Nice outdoor space there also. I am sure it won't be as crowded as when the Africa Day was on!

I wouldn't really like to spend much time in Dicey's for sketching, it's fine for afterwards but.. Perhaps we could visit UCD? The campus has some nice grounds including the lake, the egg etc. It's easily accessible and if it is miserable we could always just pop into one of the buildings?

Good idea Tracy, I don't know my way around there , the lake sounds interesting!

oh before I go getting your hopes up Mary - it's not a natural lake! It's manmade, but has lots of ducks etc. There are often kids (and big kids!) with motorised boats there on Sundays!

UCD would be a change of scenery; one problem is there's no nearby cafe/pub for afterwards, except the Montrose across the bridge. The campus is usually nice and deserted on Sundays, except the odd ghostly-pale postgrad (speaking from experience ;)

Ya it's normally pretty quiet, depending on the weather too I suppose, gaggles of foreign students can take over the place sometimes!!

There is the Centra - to get a take-away coffee if the weather is nice, we could sit out for a coffee :)

There's Lonnigans across the road. Deadly bar :) I won't be around this weekend so have fun.

Lonnegan's is the Montrose Bar ;)
Cork are playing in the Semi-Final on Sunday, so I'm not sure that I'll be able to make it either. But.. we'll see :)

Yeh Lonnegans is a good spot. Not sure if any of the student bars/coffee shops are open sundays. And don't think sunday is gonna be too sunny! Where in UCD shall we meet up?

I'll send out an email tomorrow with proper directions/location and a little map. I think by the lake outside the library could be a good spot to meet. The No. 10 bus drops you inside the campus, or if driving there's lots of space on a Sunday.
