Dublin Sketchers are a loose collection who gather every Sunday afternoon in Dublin to sketch. We go to a different location each week. Check here on a Friday to see where we are off to. Come along if you fancy it! We start sketching from 2pm and meet at 4pm for a chat/coffee/drink. We are part of the global Urban Sketchers community.
This weekend we will pay a visit to the annual Kings of Concrete Festival which was fantastic last year. Held on the grounds of the Civic Offices (Dublin City Council) there is a whole lot going on over the course of the weekend, but we will meet at our usual time of 2pm, Sunday at the entrance nearest to Dame Street (on the start of Fishamble Street) just before Christchurch Cathedral and opposite the Bull and Castle pub.
Last year there was great weather so we were lucky, but if the weather is bad, then there is the Bull and Castle to keep you warm, watered and fed if needed!
All meet together again at 4pm at the same entrance and head for the Bull and Castle for coffees etc.
I'm off to Cork this weekend so I won't be out myself and the following weekend is the Plein Air Festival in Wexford, which I am really looking forward to. There are a few Dublin Sketchers heading down again this year but if anyone is interested in coming with us - it really is a great weekend of painting :-) Can't wait! http://www.artintheopen.org/ for more info.
Enjoy Sunday - remember to send us in photos of your work so we can put them on the website!
