This Sunday 26th of March we will be sketching at the Olivier Cornet Gallery, at 3 Great Denmark Street, Dublin 1, at 2pm.

At the top of Parnell Square East, turn right onto Gardiner Row. You will find the Olivier Cornet Gallery on the left, across the road from the Belvedere Hotel. Ring the doorbell to get in.
If this is your first time out, welcome! Just bring your favourite materials, find a spot that grabs your attention and start sketching! Other sketchers will appear through the afternoon carrying stools, pencils and sketchbooks. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are!

New people come along almost every week so don't be shy about introducing yourself. It's a nice friendly gathering and you'll get to know us over coffee at 4pm.
From 4pm, we'll gather for a coffee at The Old Music Shop http://www.oldmusicshop.ie/. A bunch of people who look like sketchers will magically appear.

Location : The Old Music Shop is situated round the corner from the gallery, on North Frederick Street

Sketches from Merrion Square and Natural History Museum, 19 March 2017

The afternoon turned out to be drier than forecast and the Merrion Square area was thronged with families enjoying the day. And the Natural History Museum's collection was as fascinating as ever.

(And a few sketchers managed to pop in to see the Graham Norton portrait before meeting for coffee at the National Gallery)

Sunday 19th March - Festival Big Day Out on Merrion Square

On Sunday the 19th of March Dublin Sketchers are going to the Festival Big Day Out on Merrion Square

http://www.stpatricksfestival.ie/events/event/big_day_out

"Merrion Square comes alive with a vibrant street carnival, bursting with street theatre, music, aerial performances, workshops, crafts, Irish language activities and more."

The starting point is at 2pm in Merrion Square

The weather forecast is not great, but hopefully we'll get some dry weather. If it's too wet or cold, let's retreat to the Natural History Museum, also on Merrion Square. If you're planning to stay outside, wrap up well!

If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone who looks like a sketcher at 2pm, just choose something to draw and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. New people come along almost every week so don't be shy about introducing yourself.  It's a nice friendly gathering and you'll get to know us over coffee from 4pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.

From 4pm, we'll gather for coffee at the National Gallery of Ireland, just round the corner on Clare Street. A bunch of people who look like sketchers will magically appear.

This week's optional challenge is to draw someone dressed in green

Hope to see you there!

Sketches from the RHA - 12 March 2017

Despite the fact that the main room upstairs was closed while a new exhibition is being installed, everybody found something interesting to sketch. It was a sunny and showery afternoon, typical March weather - and some sketchers went out to St Stephen's Green to catch the first signs of spring.
