Sunday 2 December - Christmas lights and Grafton Street area

On Sunday 2 December, Dublin Sketchers will sketch in and around the Grafton Street area from 2pm and meet for drinks around 4pm in The Duke pub on Duke Street.

If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at 2pm, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know over a drink from 4pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.

About Grafton Street
Grafton Street is a busy shopping street, particularly at this time of the year, so it's unlikely you'll find a spot to sit and sketch on the street itself. If it's raining or too cold, there are a lot of classic coffee shops and pubs around the area - Bewleys, The Bruxelles, Nearys, The Bailey, Davy Byrnes, McDaids to name but a few. Enjoy the Christmas lights. Sketch the buskers or the flower sellers. Do a bit of Christmas shopping.

From 4pm, we'll gather for a drink at The Duke, Duke Street. In recent months, we've always managed to get seats upstairs. Don't forget to pay for your drink when the waiter/waitress brings it to you - they sometimes put all the orders on one bill and it gets messy.

A bunch of sketchers will magically appear.
