Dublin Sketchers - Easter Break - Back Sunday 3rd April

Just to say there will be no Sunday Sketching over the Easter Weekend. We will be back Sunday 3rd April so check back here nearer the time to see where the next destination is.

In the meantime have a lovely weekend and don't eat too much chocolate.

Thanks, and looking for someone to arrange locations in May

A sunny day in Pearse Museum and we all ventured out into the open air to sketch.

A big thanks to Jessica, Sally and Liz for organising the weekly locations in January, February and March. We're looking for someone to organise the locations for May... Just email dublinsketchers @ gmail dot com if you want to volunteer.

Thanks

Sunday 20th March Dublin Sketchers are going to the Pearse Museum Rathfarnham

On Sunday the 20th March Dublin Sketchers are going all topical and visiting the Pearse Museum in St Enda's Park.
We'll meet at 2pm at the entrance to the museum.

The museum is free to get in but if you prefer nature to history as your subject, there are decent surroundings in the park to sketch.

Here's the website:

The number 16 bus goes there - get off at the stop opposite the park on Grange Road.

From 4pm, we'll gather for a coffee at the on-site coffee shop.

If you haven't been before keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are!

Hope to see you there!

Liz

Sunday 13th March Dublin Sketchers are going to the Science Gallery

On Sunday the 13th March Dublin Sketchers are going to the Science Gallery at Trinity College. There is a brand new exhibition just opened about the Future of Farming called Field Test. Expect the usual innovative and off-the-wall exhibits.
We'll meet at 2pm at the entrance to the gallery.
From 4pm, we'll gather for a coffee at Il Caffe Di Napoli on Westland Row.
This week's optional challenge is to capture the interaction between a gallery attendant explaining something in the exhibition and anyone listening!
If the weather is nice... it's possible... you may want to wander around the grounds of Trinity and capture the essence of spring in the air...
If you haven't been before keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are!
Hope to see you there!

Sunday 6th March we are going to the Dead Zoo!

If it's good enough for Adele, it's good enough for us...
On Sunday the 6th of March Dublin Sketchers are going to the Natural History Museum aka the Dead Zoo.

We'll meet at 2pm at the entrance.

Feel free to wander over to Merrion Square if the weather's good to capture in a sketch the increasingly tree-less views. And to spot which statues have been moved to where??

From 4pm, we'll gather for a coffee or a pint at O'Donoghue's on Merrion Row.

This week's optional challenge is to draw two unlikely animals together on the same page.

If you haven't been before keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are!

Hope to see you there!

Liz
