Sketching @ the Dublin Flea Market this Sunday 29th

Dear Everyone,

we will be sketching at the Dublin Flea market. (a few minute walk from St Patricks cathedral).

We will meet at the main entrance at 2pm and back there again at 4pm to decide where to meet for coffee.

(blurb off website below and link)

DUBLIN FLEA MARKET - DUBLIN FOOD CO-OP
Sun 29 Apr: 11:00-17:00 - Dublin Food Coop, Newmarket SquareDublin 8

. For more information check out http://www.dublinflea.ie.

The Dublin Flea Market opened its doors for the first time in November 2008 and since then it has grown into one of Dublin's most loved markets. It takes place on the last Sunday of every month in The Co-op on Newmarket square, Dublin 8 and being indoors means it is safe from the unpredictable Irish weather. There are over 60 stalls each month selling everything from vintage clothes to second hand bikes, retro furniture and random odds and ends - pretty much everything you would expect to find at a flea market. As well as the buying and selling we usually have a mix of djs, live bands or whatever we can throw together on the day to keep the folks entertained, as they soak up the atmosphere, drink a coffee and fill their bellies with homemade falafel, cakes, pizza and greek dishes. The Co-op's organic food store is also open on market days with the best selection of organic and fair-trade goods in Dublin. Taking place just once a month theres always a great buzz at the Flea. As well as a great day out for bargain hunters, the market gives people a chance to take a stall, hone in on their haggling skills and play shop for the day. The Flea community is ever growing and we hope it'll be around for many years to come.

Other information:

- There is free parking on the square and the surrounding roads on a Sunday

- The nearest banklink is beside St Patrick’s Cathedral, however, the tills at the organic food store offer a cashback facility with laser transactions.

- Buses that go to Cork st. (closest stop to Newmarket)
From Grand Canal Dock or Pearse st. - 50, 56a, 77, 77a.
From Fleet st. -150
From Tara st. - 151

Dublin Sketchers Exhibition 2012 Full Up

Hi all, there has been a great response to the exhibition this year.

A large number of mostly regular Dublin Sketchers are signed up, congratulations and good luck to everyone. Unfortunately we can't take on any one else this year, but there is always 2013.

Remember we will need some work for the walls so please do draw on loose leaf sheets as well as in your notebooks every Sunday from now on folks. We will be sending out an email in the next couple of weeks giving more details as to how much space, costs, how many pics each of us can put in etc, after we've gotten a chance to talk to Mark Joyce the coordinator of the gallery from IADT.

Till then watch out for blog posts and Friday emails.

Regards, Dublin Sketchers

Sketching @ National Museum- Kildare street or Stephen's green

This Sunday we're going to the National Museum on Kildare street
We'll meet at 2pm at the main entrance.

The website for the museum is http://www.museum.ie/en/list/visit-us-overview-archaeology-ethnography.aspx and a map to the museum http://www.museum.ie/en/list/find-us-national-museum-ireland-archaeology.aspx there is also a temporary exhibition on there at the moment, the rites of Tara which might be worth a look.

There is also the option of sketching in either Stephen's green nearby if the weather is nice .

If you've not been before, you'll spot us easily as we'll be holding our sketch pads. Don't worry if you're late - just get stuck in with the drawing.

We'll meet again at 4pm at Brambles cafe for a coffee inside the museum and if this is packed we'll meet again at the main entrance to the National Musem, find a coffee shop near by and enjoy looking at each other's sketch pads.

Hope to see you there!
