Sunday 5th July - back on the streets - Stephens Green

From 2pm on Sunday 5th July Dublin Sketchers will converge on Stephens Green to sketch.

It goes without saying that everyone makes sure to keep 2 metres apart and follows government advice on Covid-19.

Rather than meeting in a pub or coffee shop at 4pm, we'll gather outdoors to catch up and check out each other's work.
If it's raining, we won't move indoors together.

At 4pm on Sun 5th July, we'll gather on the grass near the bandstand towards the south side of the square near Moli (Museum of Literature Ireland in Newman House, UCD) and space out in a large circle to show our sketches.

- Don't touch other people's sketch books or share your sketching kit.
- Maybe bring something to sit on rather than using a park bench (which might be in high demand).
- Use the public toilets in Stephens Green Shopping Centre or the newly built ones just in front of the centre, clad in wood.
Arrange your own refreshments if you fancy it.

If you can't make it into Stephen's Green, then why not stay local and sketch in your Dublin neighbourhood. If you would like your sketch to be added to the website, email it to dublinsketchers @ gmail .com or post it to the Dublin Sketchers Social WhatsApp group if you are on that. Please edit your image so that it is low res and properly oriented for posting to the website.

We're all looking forward to getting together again in a socially distant way. We're excited to see each other and everyone's sketches in person.

Dublin Sketchers out on the streets from 5th July

This year Dublin Sketchers is celebrating it's 12th year. Everyone helps to keep Dublin Sketchers going. This might be by arranging Sunday locations, updating the website and social media, sending in photos of their work. Everyone makes the atmosphere friendly and casual. We've all got creative during lockdown to keep sketching and virtually meeting.

On 29 June, Ireland began Phase 3 of the government’s road map for reopening society and business. Here's a link to the government guidelines https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/cf9b0d-new-public-health-measures-effective-now-to-prevent-further-spread-o/

Sun 28th June - Sketching near where we live, Overgrown

Sunday 28th June from around 2 - 4pm Dublin Sketchers will be sketching locally, from where we live or our in own neighbourhood around Dublin.

The theme for this week is 'overgrown'. It could be your hair, or the garden or a nearby place that is a bit wild - any person or place that looks like it could do with a haircut/trim (observed from a social distance unless in a mirror).

We will meet at 4pm on Zoom. We will show each other our sketches and perhaps sketch each other via Zoom.  Bring your own refreshments.
If you would like to join the Zoom meet up, here's the information.

Sunday 21 June sketching from where we live or in our neighbourhood in Dublin

Sunday 21st June from around 2 - 4pm we will be sketching from where we live or our own neighbourhood around Dublin.

The theme for this week is 'homes and plants'. It could be trees in front of houses, flower beds in an apartment building, or a local garden with interesting plants - why not add people and/or dogs!

We’re taking a break from the Zoom meeting this week to give people more time to get out and sketch.

If you would like your sketch to be added to the website, email it to dublinsketchers @ gmail .com or post it to the Dublin Sketchers Social WhatsApp group if you are on that. Please edit your image so that it is low res and properly oriented for posting to the website.

We're hoping that we will be able to get out sketching together on Sunday afternoons from July. It goes without saying that everyone makes sure to keep 2 metres apart.
