Sunday 30th May - Herbert Park

Hi everyone - better late than never .... weather tomorrow looks gorgeous so I thought we could meet in Herbert part .... there’s a Sunday market there from 11-4pm so anyone who wants to arrive early for a picnic lunch will enjoy that ... lots to sketch including people and pond ...

We will be out and about from about 2pm.

We can meet up afterwards around 4 near the Lolly and Cooke’s coffee place ...

I’m not sure about the ‘facilities’ but the hotel might be open and there are outdoor loos at L&C ...

It goes without saying that everyone makes sure to keep 2 metres apart and follows government advice on Covid-19. If you are new, get stuck in and keep your eye out for other people sketching and say "hello."

If you would like your sketch to be added to dublinsketchers.com please either post it to the WhatsApp Social Dublin Sketchers group or email it to dublinsketchers@gmail.com (jpeg format). Please make it low-res and properly orientated for posting to the website. If you're on Instagram, please include  #dublinsketchers in your post or tag us @dublin_sketchers

Cheers Kate ☺️

Sunday May 23rd - Merrion Sq and / or your Special Book

Hi everyone... This week, Sunday 23rd May - the weather is pretty appalling so I thought a choice of meet up or a theme would be nice. So, Merrion Square for the hardy annuals and 'book/s that mean something to me' for the theme. The book can be the cover / an illustration from / the meaning / or anything it conjures up for you. Like, the place where you read it / the person who gave it to you. And you can but of course don't have to share the meaning. That should get ye all thinking.

If you do make it to Merrion Square in the rain from 2pm, it goes without saying that everyone makes sure to keep 2 metres apart and follows government advice on Covid-19. If you are new, get stuck in and keep your eye out for other people sketching and say "hello."

Rather than meeting in a pub or coffee shop, we'll gather outdoors to catch up and check out each other's work. At 4pm on Sun 23rd,  we'll gather near the Oscar Wilde statue. If it's lashing it down with rain, maybe most people will stay home and sketch their books!

If you would like your sketch to be added to the website, email it to dublinsketchers @ gmail .com or post it to the Dublin Sketchers Social WhatsApp group if you are on that. Please edit your image so that it is low res and properly oriented for posting to the website. If you're on Instagram, use #dublinsketchers #urbansketchers

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Sunday 16th May - Dublin Sketchers out on the streets

Hey everyone .... this week - Sunday 16th May - we will all be out and about again from 2pm.

It goes without saying that everyone makes sure to keep 2 metres apart and follows government advice on Covid-19.

I thought it would be nice to sketch in the grounds of Dublin Castle. Lots of areas there to sketch - the little park outside Chester Beatty Library - which will probably be open for coffee and loos and stuff .....If you are new, get stuck in and keep your eye out for other people sketching and say "hello."

Rather than meeting in a pub or coffee shop, we'll gather outdoors to catch up and check out each other's work. At 4pm on Sun 16th May,  we'll gather in the circular gardens behind Dublin Castle / in front of the Chester Beatty Library.

If you can't make it in to join us, then why not stay local and sketch in your Dublin neighbourhood.

Cheers - Kate.
