Who will organise the locations for July?

Thanks to Mandy for organising the locations for May and Balazs for doing the same for June.

Who wants to organise the locations for July? It's very easy - takes about 15 minutes on a Friday. Who's up for it.... Give a little to keep Dublin Sketchers going.

Email dublinsketchers@gmail.com if you want to, and we'll send you easy step by step instructions!

Sunday, 28th June - Zoology Museum at Trinity College Dublin

Hello Sketchers,

We are looking forward to a Sunday with changing weather... time to get inside perhaps?

This Sunday, the 28st June, Dublin Sketchers are going to the Zoological Museum at Trinity College Dublin. We'll meet at the entrance of the Zoological Department at 2pm.

The Zoological Museum has a small entry fee (3 euros) and is run by the Zoological Department. It runs only during the summer (June-August) and it is open every day between 10.30 and 16.00 (their info leaflet is not updated; they are open on Sundays). Their building overlooks the Green where you can see some cricket players from time to time. See Map attached. See the museums website for more info at https://www.tcd.ie/Zoology/museum/
The Campus of Trinity College Dublin is also a nice area to sketch... depending on the weather of course.

From 4pm, we'll gather for a tea and see what's in each other’s sketchbooks at the CafĂ© of the National Gallery. The National Gallery is just across the road on Leinster Street South.

If you haven't been before don't worry. Just keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are!

See you there!

The National College of Art & Design has a great mixture of exhibitors in a lots of disciplines from art to fashion, etc... the exhibition is scattered around in the different buildings of the campus... a great place to discover... and there is a great outdoor space between the buildings! Alternatively, in the vicinity, there is a great festival at the grounds of Christ Church - you could check this out: http://dublingardenfestival.ie/

From 4pm, we'll gather for a tea or a pint at the Lord Edward Pub. The pub is opposite Christ Church, beside the Jurys Inn Hotel. They have a lounge area upstairs; you'll find the stairs at the back of the pub... http://www.lordedward.ie/Contact.html

Sunday, 14th June - Pre-Bloomsday Party in the City

After last weekend's seaside venue, let's get back to the city. Bloomsday is approaching so let's see what are all those Edwardian Dublin folks are up to...

On Sunday, the 14th June, Dublin Sketchers are going to North Great George Street, Dublin. We'll meet at the top of the street at 2pm.
There is a Bloomsday Brunch here from 12.00 to 17.00... what does this mean? Expect people dressed up in old clothes, having lunch, having great time and some fun with Molly... more can be found out here:
http://www.happenings.ie/events/35/bizarre-bloomsday-brunch

If this sounds too chaotic, the Hugh Lane Gallery or the beautiful Garden of Remembrance are just a few steps away.

From 4pm, we'll gather for a tea or a pint at the Hophouse (Kimchi) Pub. The pub is just around the corner on Parnell Street. See location on interactive map: http://www.hophouse.ie/contact.htm

Up to some challenge this week? Try to capture some interaction between two or more people.

If you haven't been before don't worry. Just keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are!

See you there!
