Dublin Sketchers Christmas Meetup Sunday 19th!

Hi all,

Next Sunday we are going to visit the Christmas Markets in the Docklands for a Christmas meetup with some nice atmosphere! Hope you can all make it - we will meet at the entrance on the Luas side - as many of us will most likely get the Luas down!

Those who want to sketch for a while can do that - there should be lots to see - as well as the Docklands area in general. There is then also the mulled wine.. which may keep some of you in the markets area. Meet up again at 4pm in the lower part of the market - by the stage area!

As this is our last meetup before the holidays, Happy Christmas to those who won't be able to make it this Sunday and we will see you in the New Year!

See you Sunday!

The Bank on College Green 2pm Sunday December 12

Ok so We're off to the Bank pub on College Green to keep warm this Sunday 12 december at

It's shown above here in between the Bank of Ireland building and the Londis, it's technically on College Green as it runs into Dame Street. It's architecturally and aesthetically interesting enough inside with people generally sitting still over pints long enough to get in some figure sketching.

Anyone new just look out for people with sketchbooks please! We stay in the pub for coffee or drinks or whatever at 4pm as normal. Look forward to seeing some of you there. Place does pretty reasonable food too.

Here are some pics thanks to Mary http://www.bankoncollegegreen.com/gallery2.html

Sunday 12th Dec....

Enjoyed today....A few people liked the idea of being in a pub next week...The Bank (or is it The Banker) on Dame Street proved to be a good spot before when we were there. Spacious, with interesting architecture and plenty of people roving about....Just an idea.

Kylemore Cafe, Stephen's Green Shopping Centre @2pm Sunday 5th

Hi all,

This Sunday we will meet in the Kylemore Cafe, which is upstairs in the Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. Views out over the Grafton St/Stephen's Green area should be nice with the snow, or for those who want to brave the elements you can warm up inside afterwards with a hot coffee and phamtagously browse the buffet counters!

Meet at 2pm as usual, at the entrance to Kylemore upstairs. Have a sketchpad out and you will be recognised. If you're late - just look for the arty bunch and don't be shy - everyone is very welcome to come along.

Hope you are all staying in out of the cold - stay safe!

Brrrr - ideas for Sunday?

Well is it cold enough for ye?! I think this week it is obvious we'll have to stay indoors.. but.. where?! Ideas please!

Calling all sketchers - Art donations wanted. Barnardos Fundraiser Night - Monday, 20th December, 2010 at 7pm. 191 Pearse St.Trinity Arts Workshop.

Calling all sketchers and life drawers.

A Fundraiser in aid of Barnardos children's charity will be held at the Trinity Arts Workshop in 191 Pearse St. studios (Opp. O'neills bar) on Monday, 20th december, 2010 at 7pm.

Donations of drawings & sketches are kindly requested from artists of the life drawing class and the Dublin Sketchers group, past and present, and will be exhibited and sold/auctioned at a minimum price to raise funds for barnardos.

Anyones participation in this event will be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully it will be an enjoyable evening and maybe even a great opportunity for family and friends to buy a beautiful original drawing as an xmas gift and support a worthwhile charity as well. We will probably be heading over to O'Neills for a pint afterwards so it should be a bit of craic too.

Work will be collected from artists before Friday 17th December by fellow sketcher Carmel at the end of the next couple of Sunday sessions or alternatively you can give them to me James if I'm about, or drop them into the Trinity life drawing studio on Pearse Street. Thankyou for reading! Stay warm and safe folks!

National Museum Kildare St. @2pm Sunday 28th

There are lots of exhibits in the Museum - something for everyone! It has been ages since we have visited so I'm sure it will be great to take a good look around.

Everyone welcome - if you haven't met up with us before just have a sketchpad in your hand and you'll be spotted!
