21st of September - St. Patrick's College, Maynooth

On Sunday the 21th of September, Dublin Sketchers will sketch in St. Patrick's College, Maynooth, co. Kildare, W23 NX63  from 2pm and meet for drinks at 4pm in The Roost Maynooth, Main St.

Maynooth University has amazing architecture and lots of interesting spots to sketch. You can draw the main quad and the college building, or explore the historic graveyard, a small hidden botanical garden, or the view towards the university chapel.
You can get to Maynooth by commuter train from Connolly Station (via Drumcondra and Broombridge), or take bus 115 or C3. If there’s light rain, I’ve marked two arched walkways on the campus map — great sheltered spots with panoramic views of the college.

If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at 2pm, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know over a drink from 4pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.

From 4pm, we'll gather for a drink and to enjoy each other’s sketches at The Roost Maynooth. A bunch of sketchers will magically appear.

14th September - Powerscourt Townhouse Centre

On Sunday the 14th of September, Dublin Sketchers will sketch in
Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, 59 William St S, D02 HF9  from 2pm and meet for drinks at 4pm in The Duke Dublin, 9 Duke St.

The Powerscourt Centre is a fine example of Dublin’s Georgian architecture; the house is unique in showing the transition from rococo style to neo-classic under one roof. Today, it is a multi-storey shopping centre that includes a variety of cafés, boutiques, and specialty shops.
