Dublin Sketchers get together every Sunday afternoon in Dublin to sketch. We go to a different place each week. Check here before hand to see where we are off to. Come along if you fancy it! We start sketching from 2pm and meet at 4pm for a drink and chat. We are part of the global Urban Sketchers community.
Sketches from Portobello 23rd November
23rd of November - Portobello Harbour
On Sunday 23rd November Dublin Sketchers will sketch in the Portobello Harbour area beside the Grand Canal in Dublin 8.
Wrap up well. In past times this area was a major transport hub with two large canal boat harbours (sadly now filled in). The Portobello Hotel (now Atlas Language School) was built in 1807 to accommodate canal boat passengers.
If it’s your first time keep your eyes open for other sketchers and say hello - we are a friendly bunch. You need to bring your own sketching materials. We sketch from about 2pm and then meet up around 4pm for a chat and a drink and to enjoy each others sketches.
This week space has been reserved for us in The Lower Deck (Ryan’s of the Harbour). A bunch of sketchers will magically appear.
Sketches from Henrietta Street 16th November
16th of November - Henrietta Street
On Sunday 16th November Dublin Sketchers will meet at Henrietta Street, Dublin 1, a very unique street of early Georgian townhouses dating from the 1730s.
The narrow archway at the top of the street leads to the King’s Inns Park so there is plenty of interest in the area.
If it’s your first time out we meet from about 2pm. Keep an eye out for other sketchers and say hello. You need to bring your own sketch book, pens, paints etc.
Everyone meets up for a drink, friendly chat and to enjoy each other’s sketches at 4pm. This week in The King’s Inns on the corner of Henrietta Street and Bolton Street. A bunch of sketchers will magically appear.
