Dublin Sketchers get together every Sunday afternoon in Dublin to sketch. We go to a different place each week. Check here before hand to see where we are off to. Come along if you fancy it! We start sketching from 2pm and meet at 4pm for a drink and chat. We are part of the global Urban Sketchers community.
Sketches from Sunday 7th May 2023 on the River Dodder, Milltown and other areas.
Sunday, 7th May - Dodder river
On Sunday 7th May we will be sketching from 2pm around the Dodder river in the Milltown area. Plenty of sketching opportunities along the Dodder from the Windy Arbor playground / Bankside cottages, passing the 9 arches bridge, all the way up to The Dropping Well, where we will meet at 4 pm. The Dropping Well has a few bronze statues - one of them is a rhino in the water, and a famine memorial by the door - and offers sketching opportunities in itself. If the weather is muggy, Wilde and Greene cafe offers an indoor opportunity.
If it’s your first time out, bring your own sketchbook / paper and sketching implements of choice and get stuck in. If you don't see any sketchers along the river, you'll find everyone in the pub from 4pm, where we will check out each other's work.

Sunday April 30th - Farmleigh, Phoenix Park
On Sunday 30th April we will be sketching from 2pm at the Hanami Festival in Farmleigh in the Phoenix Park, and meeting at the Boathouse Cafe from 4pm. Although the location is a bit difficult to reach, it seems too good an opportunity for sketching to pass up, with martial arts, costume displays and stalls, in a beautiful garden setting. The activities start at 12, so come earlier if you like!
Farmleigh can be accessed by car, or the 37 bus goes from town to the Castleknock Gate, just turn right soon after entering the gate and follow the wall down to the entrance to Farmleigh.
If its your first time out, bring your own sketchbook / paper and sketching implements of choice and get stuck in. If you don't see any sketchers out on the street, you'll find everyone in the cafe from 4pm, where we will check out each other's work.

Sunday 23rd April Dun Laoghaire Lexicon Library
On Sunday 23 April we will be sketching from 4pm in and around the Lexicon Library in Dun Laoghaire and meeting from 4pm at The Forty Foot Pub. As well as being an amazing space, there are great views from all the many windows in the Lexicon, and also from the Forty Foot which looks out on the harbour.
