Sunday 14th - Chester Beatty Library, The Art Books of Henri Matisse

Hello all!
Hope you had a great week and no doubt are glad to see the weekend race towards you! This Sunday we will head for the Chester Beatty Library - which has 'The Art Books of Henri Matisse' on display at the moment for inspiration. If the weather is kind, the gardens of Dublin Castle are beautiful to spend time in.

We will meet at 2pm, just inside the main door of the Chester Beatty - then again at 4pm in the Silk Road Cafe on the ground floor (mmm cake!). If you haven't been out with us before, just have a sketchbook to hand and you will be spotted. If you are late - don't worry about it, you can catch the group at 4pm, just sketch away.

Iveagh Gardens, Sunday 7th at 2pm

Hello everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed the Docklands last Sunday - those of us who went to Wexford had a ball! A brilliant weekend of painting and workshops, highly recommended to keep it in mind for next year.

This weekend we're going to stick to the great outdoors and head for the Iveagh Gardens, where there is no shortage of inspiration. Meet inside the gardens at the waterfall to the Harcourt St. side of the park, at 2pm.

We will meet at the same spot again by the waterfall at 4pm and head for the Bleeding Horse for a coffee/beverage!

I for one hope to bring my paints and continue my learning curve.. if you haven't been out with us just have a sketchpad in your hand and we'll spot you. If you are late arriving, just wander about and you are bound to spot some of the group in the park, sketch away and meet us when we re-group at 4pm.

Hi all,

Any suggestions for this Sunday? A few of us mentioned the Iveagh Gardens, it's a handy spot and lovely if the weather is good, one of those places we never visit in the winter!

Sunday was a lovely day, and I did a quick pen sketch from a bridge at the CHQ then I tried a watercolour sketch of the same view. Sitting on the bridge was draughty and I was looking through a grid at the view! However there were some great cloud effects later towards the Beckett Bridge.
