Some sketches from Howth, Sunday 18th Oct.

Pen & ink drawings of Abbey Street and the Harbour by Maura.

There was a great turnout in Howth today, and lots of interesting subjects. I think I would like to make another trip there soon!

Beautiful sketches Maura and Mary, they really capture the armosphere. I love those watercolours Mary! Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday, we had family visiting from Spain. I'll be in connemara next week so I'll miss out again but promise I'll do some sketching there :O)

Great sketches both of you. Maura, that pen & ink drawing is really terrific and Mary, I really like the streetscape with the touch of colour. Both should be in frames.

Thanks Suanne and Pat. We walked all over the hill looking for the great view of the harbour, eventually we met some people, and signed their petition to preserve the excellent viewing spot, which is in front of the police station, and they also directed us to another spot which we sketched. I still need to go back!

They are all really lovely. I think some of the colour is lost from your watercolour Mary - it was so beautiful!

We will have to go back out again, weather permitting I suppose!

Great stuff. The ink sketches of the buildings are fantastic Maura. Mary your watercolours always catch the atmosphere. Brilliant work. Good day out there, pub was cramped. Howth'll probably go on the backburner till the warmer weather returns I guess.
