Dublin Sketchers get together every Sunday afternoon in Dublin to sketch. We go to a different place each week. Check here before hand to see where we are off to. Come along if you fancy it! We start sketching from 2pm and meet at 4pm for a drink and chat. We are part of the global Urban Sketchers community.
Sunday 23rd August - Spencer Dock

On Sunday 23rd August, Dublin Sketchers will sketch around Spencer Dock and the Royal Canal from 2pm and meet for drinks at The Spencer Hotel (again), Excise Walk, IFSC, Dublin 1, D01 X4C9.
Spencer Dock and the Royal Canal offer a beautiful setting for sketching, with benches and lovely views along the canal. You can also find the distinctive modern Spencer Dock Bridge, as well as St Laurence O'Toole's Church nearby. There are plenty of interesting views and subjects to choose from, whether you prefer architecture, water, boats or city life.
If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at 2pm, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know over a drink from 4pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.

Sunday 16th August: Jeanie Johnston
On Sunday 16th August, Dublin Sketchers will sketch around the Jeanie Johnston from 2pm and meet for drinks at 4pm in Spencer Hotel (D01 X4C9).
The Jeanie Johnston and the area around it offer a fantastic opportunity to sketch maritime history alongside modern Dublin. You can sketch the ship itself or, if you prefer, choose from the many interesting elements around it, including the river, bridges, boats and nearby buildings.

Sunday 9th August: Scavenger hunt
On Sunday, 9th August, we’ll have a small summer celebration. Between 2-4pm, we’ll be scattered around the city centre on a sketching scavenger hunt. We’ll be roughly in the area between Grafton Street and Camden Street, and try to sketch as many prompts as we can. You can include several prompts in one sketch or sketch many small sketches, and you don’t need to get all 20, just have fun with it.
At 4pm we’ll meet at Wetherspoon on Camden street where we will review all the scavenger sketches and give out prizes to participants! We will then do a sketch swap - give one of your sketches and get a mystery sketch in return. See you all then!
