On Sunday the 14th August we will be going to, Dubh Linn Gardens in Dublin Castle for outdoor Shakespeare at Irish Monuments: http://fortunesfoolproductions.ie
This is a completely free event, seating is picnic style so bring a blanket or tarp (chairs are not provided). You do not need tickets or reservations. Seating is general admission and begins 30 minutes before show times. If Shakespeare isn’t your thing there are lots of interesting squares and back streets within the Dublin Castle walls and if the weather turns bad there is of course our old favourite the Chester Beatty Museum full of treasures.
The starting point will be 2pm outside the front door of the Chester Beatty Museum. Don’t panic if you can’t find anyone to start with, we are not known for our punctuality. Just choose something to draw and get stuck in but keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. New people come along almost every week so don't be shy about introducing yourself. It's a nice friendly gathering and you'll get know us over coffee from 4pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.
From 4pm, we'll gather in the Parliament Hotel on Dame Street to check out each other's work (formerly and better known as the Arlington, exit Dublin Castle Main gate and look up the hill to the left) Location: http://www.parliamenthotel.ie/location.htm
A bunch of people who look like sketchers will magically appear.
Hope to see you there!
