On Sun 26th February, we’re going to sketch around the Dublin City Fruit, Vegatable and Flower Market on Marys Lane. This weekend the market will be alive with the Ritmo Latino festival which you need tickets to access. We can still sketch and enjoy the surrounding area of which there are alot of quirky cafes, streets and little parks. The building itself is Victorian. Various pieces of terracotta statuary around the arches and doors refrence produce such as fruit veg and flowers and fish. See how close you can get to these and check them out if you can. There is currently some construction going on around the market which might be of use to document in your sketches. It's always nice to see and record changes in the landscape.
We will meet at The Black Sheep (61 Capel St, Rotunda, Dublin) from 4pm.
If it’s your first time out, bring your own sketchbook / paper and sketching implements of choice and get stuck in. If you don’t see any sketchers out on the street, you’ll find everyone in the pub from 4pm, where we will check out each other’s work.
Hope to see you there!
