Sunday the 28th July, Dun Laoghaire

Digital drawing of Dun Laoghaire East Pier

On Sunday the 28th July, Dublin Sketchers will sketch in Dun Laoghaire from 2pm and meet to chat and look at each other work at 4pm in Wetherspoons. There is a market in People’s Park, a vintage funfair near the train station as well as good views from the piers or from the windows of Dlr Lexicon.

If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at 2pm, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It’s a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know over a drink from 4pm. Don’t worry if you’re late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.

If you would like your sketch to be added to the website, email it to dublinsketchers@gmail.com or post it to the Dublin Sketchers Social WhatsApp group if you are on that. Please edit your image so that it is low res and properly oriented for posting to the website. If you are posting your sketch on Instagram please #dublinsketchers #urbansketchers
Hope to see you there

Sunday 12th May - The Corner Shop, Dun Laoghaire

On Sunday 12th May Dublin Sketchers will sketch around Georges Street in Dun Laoghaire, with a focus around Dun Laoghaire's Last Corner Shop (46a Georges Street Upper) from 2pm and meet for drinks at 4pm in Walters at 68 Georges Street Upper. It's a short stroll to the sea and to People's Park.

From 4pm, we'll gather for a drink and to enjoy each other’s sketches at Walters. A bunch of sketchers will magically appear.

In case of bad weather, the DLR Lexicon library is not far. DART services appear to be running this weekend, and 46A bus is a frequent service.

31st July 2022- Dun Laoghaire

31st July 2022- Dun Laoghaire

On Sunday the 31st July,Dublin Sketchers will sketch around Dun Laoghaire from 2pm and meet for drinks at 4pm in The forty foot pub. There are lots of good spots to draw from. If you looking for somewhere indoor to draw from, I think the DLR Lexicon Library is open until 4pm and would give good views of the harbour.

Sketches from Dun Laoghaire (6 May 2018)

It felt like the whole population of Dublin headed off to Dun Laoghaire on Sunday, drawn by the sunshine and the sea! We all found our own places to sketch, in quiet spots or right in the middle of the action. And we even managed to get a drink afterwards, despite the queues at the bar! And Aodh did get her Teddy's ice-cream after all!
Ireland is the best place on earth when the sun shines!
