Dublin Sketchers Group

Sunday 5th August 2018 Dublin Sketchers will be sketching at the ROYAL HIBERNIAN ACADEMY15 Ely Place, Dublin 2, D02 A213 between 2PM and 4PM.

This is the 188th RHA Annual Exhibition, Ireland’s largest and longest running exhibition of visual art. Open to all artists working in paint, drawing, print, sculpture, photography and architecture, the RHA Annual Exhibition attracts a large public and critical audience with 48,000 visitors last year. With sales in excess of € 490,000 in 2017, the highest since 2008, the Annual is a key event of the art calendar for both public and private buyers of all levels.

This exhibition ends on the 11th August and it could be the last chance to visit for some people

On Sunday the 29th of July Dublin sketchers will be heading to the Olivier Cornet gallery 3 great Denmark street please see link.chttp://www.oliviercornetgallery.com/
For those of us who it missed opening night its another chance to see the wonderful exhibition by Dublin Sketcher Leyho.
We will meet at the gallery at 2pm and sketch from 2 to 4pm. At 4pm we will have a look through the sketchbooks and enjoy cuppa in the gallery itself.
Any newbies are most welcome to the group, and no worries if you do run late most of us do! Hope to see you there, Jen.

Sketching at the Lexicon hoping for sun. JULY 22ND

On Sunday the 22nd of July Dublin Sketchers will be heading to the Lexicon in Dun Laoighaire . Please see link http://www.venuehire.dlrlexicon.ie
We will meet just inside the entrance at 2pm . From 2pm to 3:50 (lexicon closes at 4 on Sunday) we will sketch in the library. The best views are from the top floor but its a beautiful building so plenty of options. Also plenty of outside options such as the pier or nearby people's park. At 4pm.we will head to wheatherspoons upstairs bar for a pint/coffee and a look at all the fab work. If you are new you are very welcome to the group! No worries if you do run late,most of us do! Next Thursday, 19 July, at 6:30 pm, the exhibition 'Chiens Bleus, Chiens Gris' will be opening at the Olivier Cornet Gallery, 3 Great Denmark Street, Dublin 1 (beside Belvedere College)

Those of you who know Leyho are already familiar with his wonderful work as an urban sketcher and graphic novelist.

For those who don't know him, this is a great opportunity to discover his work.

15th of July Science gallery Sketching

On Sunday the 15th of July we will be heading to the Science Gallery on Pearse street . please see link : https://dublin.sciencegallery.com/events.
We will meet just inside the gallery entrance at 2pm. Between 2pm and 4pm we will sketch in the gallery with the outside options of the nearby cricket field and trinity grounds.
I have emailed the gallery and they are very happy to accomadate our group but just ask as its a small enough space, if the group can divide ourselves between upstairs and downstairs. I reckon we would do this anyhow but just to be mindful.
At 4pm we will meet at the Kennedy's pub on Pearse Street for a coffee/pint and a look through the sketchbooks.
If you are new to the group all you need to bring is yourself, sketchbook and pencils. Say hi to any sketchy people and no worries if you do run late, most of us usually do. See you there! 🙂 Jen.
