Sunday 2nd August Temple Bar Food Fiesteval

Hello Sketchers,

on Sunday the 2nd August we are going to the first ever Temple Bar food Fiestaval in Meeting House Square. http://templebarfiestaval.com/

"Meeting House Square will become an urban picnic area where you can sit and savour the culinary delights. There will be plenty of non-food related things for families to do too with free family entertainment including giant games, a craft club and face painting and a live DJ"

Meet outside the Photography Archive on Meeting House Square at 2pm and again at 4pm at Costa Coffee just round the corner on the junction of Essex Street and Eustace Street to share sketchbooks. The square has big umbrellas if it rains so don't be put off by the weather!

Sunday 26 July - Urban Plant Life

This Sunday 26 July, Dublin Sketchers have been invited to Urban Plant Life at 110 Cork Street, Dublin 8.

Urban Plant Life is the only garden centre in the City Centre.  It is located within an old factory complete with a chimney stack and many old features.  It is full of nooks and crannies, garden furniture, statues and of course plant life.  Whatever you prefer to draw, you’ll find it here.  http://plantlife.ie/index.php?route=common/home

We will meet at 2pm at the front entrance.  Don’t worry if you’re late - just get stuck in and draw whatever takes your fancy.

We’ll meet again at 4pm at the coffee shop inside the garden centre for refreshments and a chat.

If you haven't been before, keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello.  Dublin Sketcher’s is FREE – just bring your own drawing materials.

Hope to see you there!

Sunday 19 July - Blessington Street Basin

On Sunday 19 July Dublin Sketchers are going to meet at the Blessington Street Basin Park.  http://www.dublincity.ie/main-menu-services-recreation-culture-dublin-city-parks-visit-park/blessington-street-basin

This is a quiet little park hidden full of foliage, birdlife and a pretty little lodge house.  At the entrance to the park there are some fine Georgian Houses on Blessington Street.

We’ll meet at 2pm at the entrance to the park. Don’t worry if you’re late - just get stuck in and draw whatever takes your fancy.

We’ll meet again at 4pm at the same place and adjourn to one of our usual spots – the Candy Café on North Frederick Street.

If you haven't been before, keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello.  Dublin Sketcher’s is FREE – just bring your own drawing materials.

Hope to see you there!

Sunday 12 July - Iveagh Gardens

On Sunday 12 July Dublin Sketchers are going to meet at the Iveagh Gardens.
http://www.heritageireland.ie/en/dublin/theiveaghgardens/

We expect town to be quite busy on Sunday.  There is a huge event taking place on Merion Square called the City Spectacular which – by the way – is well worth checking out over the weekend.  Some people might like to sketch at that event.  If so, feel free … but drawing in big crowds is not everyone’s cup of tea, so we will meet nearby in the Iveagh Gardens which is a much more peaceful park.

We’ll meet at 2pm at the entrance to the park on Clonmel Street (off Harcourt Street)

Don’t worry if you’re late - just get stuck in and draw whatever takes your fancy.

At 4pm we'll meet again at the same entrance and retire for refreshments at Dicey’s Garden in the Russell Court Hotel on Harcourt Street.
If you haven't been before, keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello.  Dublin Sketcher’s is FREE – just bring your own drawing materials.

Hope to see you there!
