Dublin Sketchers get together every Sunday afternoon in Dublin to sketch. We go to a different place each week. Check here before hand to see where we are off to. Come along if you fancy it! We start sketching from 2pm and meet at 4pm for a drink and chat. We are part of the global Urban Sketchers community.
Sun 1 Sept - Trinity College
Sunday 20 August, Trinity College
On Sunday the 20th of August Dublin Sketchers will sketch around the grounds of Trinity College from 2pm and meet for drinks at 4pm at the Porterhouse Central on Nassau Street.
If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at 2pm, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know over a drink from 4pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.
From 4pm, we'll gather for a drink and to enjoy each other’s sketches at the Porterhouse Central. A bunch of sketchers will magically appear.
If you would like your sketch to be added to the website, email it to dublinsketchers @ gmail .com or post it to the Dublin Sketchers Social WhatsApp group if you are on that. Please edit your image so that it is low res and properly oriented for posting to the website. If you are posting your sketch on Instagram please #dublinsketchers #urbansketchers
Hope to see you there!
Sketches from in and around Trinity College on Sun 21 Aug
21st Aug 2022- Trinity College Dublin
On Sunday the 21st Aug, Dublin Sketchers will sketch around Trinity College Dublin from 2pm and meet for drinks at 4pm in Costa Coffee, 3 college green. There are lots of good spots to draw from.
History of the place
Trinity College (Irish: Coláiste na Tríonóide), officially The Provost, Fellows, Foundation Scholars and the other members of Board, of the College of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Queen Elizabeth near Dublin,[1] is the sole constituent college of the University of Dublin, a research university in Dublin, Ireland.[10] Queen Elizabeth I founded the college in 1592 as "the mother of a university" that was modelled after the collegiate universities of Oxford and Cambridge, but unlike these affiliated institutions, only one college was ever established; as such, the designations "Trinity College" and "University of Dublin" are usually synonymous for practical purposes.
Trinity College Dublin is a sister college to St John's College, Cambridge and Oriel College, Oxford, and by incorporation, a graduate of Dublin, Oxford or Cambridge can be conferred the equivalent degree at either of the other two without further examination. The university is legally incorporated by "the Provost, Fellows, Foundation Scholars and other members of the Board," as outlined by its founding charter. It is one of the seven ancient universities of Britain and Ireland, as well as Ireland's oldest surviving university. The college's main campus, in the heart of Dublin, has often been ranked among the most iconic in the world, and is the setting for a number of novels, films and urban legends [source: wikipedia]

Sunday 14 November - Trinity College
On Sunday 14th November, Dublin Sketchers will sketch around Trinity College from 2pm.
I believe Trinity College has re-opened its doors to the public, so let's rediscover this oasis in the heart of the metropolis!
If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at your arrival, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know when we get together at 4pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.
Another option if you're in the area is the Irish Yeast Company, a beautiful 18th century building across from the Trinity Luas stop. Another endangered institution in Dublin. It seems to be in disrepair after planning permission was refused to Doyle's pub, after they had bought the property after its owner died in 2018.
Sunday 27th - Trinity College
At 4pm we will meet for a drink at The Lincoln's Inn, a pub on Lincoln Place around the back of Trinity.
If you can’t find any sketchers at the beginning don’t worry … and if you’re late you won’t be the only one. It’s Sunday afternoon and we’re not famous for our punctuality. Just get started and keep your eyes open for other sketchers.
We hope to see you there!
