Sunday 31st December - Grafton Street area and The Duke Pub

On Sunday 31st December, we'll be sketching in the Grafton Street area from 2pm. If you want a view over the street, the rooftop café terrace in Marks&Spencers may be a good spot, weather permitting.

From 4pm, we'll meet for a drink and a chat and to look at everyone's sketchbooks in The Duke pub on Duke Street.

Sketch from 2pm and meet in the pub from 4pm.

If its your first time out, we're a friendly and welcoming crowd. Bring your own equipment, choose something to sketch and get stuck in. You'll probably spot a view sketchers, so just say hi. You'll meet everyone in the pub, where we chat and check out each other's work over a drink.

If you want your sketch posted on the website, email it to dublinsketchers @ gmail dot com or share it on the WhatsApp group.

If sharing on social media use #dublinsketchers #urbansketchers

Sunday 11 December - sketching Christmas around Grafton Street

This Sunday (11 December 2022), we will be sketching around the Grafton Street area, from 2pm. It's starting to feel a lot like Christmas, so let's sketch Christmas decorations and lights, shop windows, crowds, carol singers etc.

The forecast is for cold dry weather, so wrap up well. If you would rather be warm, you can sketch indoors at the Duke pub, Stephen's Green Shopping Centre or other cafés and pubs in the area.

We will meet together at the Duke pub on Duke Street from 4pm.

If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at 2pm, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know over a drink from 4pm at The Duke pub.

Don't worry if you're late; most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.

If you would like your sketch to be added to the website, email it to dublinsketchers@gmail.com or post it to the Dublin Sketchers Social WhatsApp group if you are on that. Please edit your image so that it is low-res and properly oriented for posting to the website.
