On Sunday 18th June, Dublin Sketchers are meeting in and
around the Oliver Cornet Gallery, 3 Great Denmark Street, Dublin 1.
It is customary at this time of year for us to attend a
Bloomsday Festival event. This year, some
people you may know from Dublin Sketchers are contributing their work
to an exhibition entitled “There's a touch of the artist
about old Bloom” which runs from 16th – 25th June at the Oliver Cornet
Gallery.
As a special treat on Sunday there will be a recitation
by renowned Joycean scholar David Norris at 2.30pm in the Gallery.
The Gallery at 2pm is our starting point, but feel free
to trace the footsteps of Bloom around North Great Georges Street and Frederick
Street to soak up some of the Bloomsday atmosphere.
If you can’t find any sketchers at the beginning don’t
worry … and if you’re late you won’t be the only one. It’s Sunday afternoon and we’re not famous
for our punctuality. Just get started
and keep your eyes open for others.
At 4pm, we’ll meet for coffee in The Old Music Shop in
North Frederick Street.
Dublin Sketchers is FREE – just bring your own materials.
