From 1:30pm on Sunday 16th January Dublin Sketchers will sketch around the Guinness Brewery. The area is full of iconic buildings worthy of sketching. Apart from the actual brewery there’s also other interesting buildings like the old Power House, St. Patrick's Tower and also up the road there’s the Pearse Lyon Whiskey distillery.
Forecast looks decent so far but if you want to stay inside there’s a few cafes on James Street, eg. Groundstate Coffee and Bell Pesto Cafe.
Please keep in mind current government guidelines on Covid.
If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at 1:30pm, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know when we get together at 3:30pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.
Rather than meeting in a pub or coffee shop, we'll gather outdoors to catch up and check out each other's work. At 3:30pm we'll gather on the corner of James St and Echlin St (by the church). Grab a coffee / drink on the way.
If you can't make it into the Guinness area then why not stay local and sketch in your Dublin neighbourhood.
If you would like your sketch to be added to the website, email it to dublinsketchers @ gmail .com or post it to the Dublin Sketchers Social WhatsApp group if you are on that. Please edit your image so that it is low res and properly oriented for posting to the website. If you're on Instagram, use #dublinsketchers #urbansketchers
Looking forward to seeing you there.
