19th of October - Terenure

On Sunday the 19th of October, Dublin Sketchers will sketch at Terenure from 2pm and meet for drinks at 4pm in Brady's Pub, 5-9 Terenure Pl, Dublin, D6W TX40.

Terenure, a suburb in south Dublin, has a rich history dating back to the 13th century when it was known as Tir an Iubhair—“land of the yew.” Once part of the estates of the Archbishop of Dublin, it later developed into a Victorian residential area with grand houses and leafy streets. The area is notable for its artistic and architectural heritage, including the presence of stained glass works by the renowned Irish artist Harry Clarke, whose intricate designs can be found in nearby churches, adding to Terenure’s cultural and spiritual character.

If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at 2pm, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know over a drink from 4pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.

From 4pm, we'll gather for a drink and to enjoy each other’s sketches at Brady's Pub. A bunch of sketchers will magically appear.
