On Sunday the 12th of October, Dublin Sketchers will sketch in Rathgar, Dublin 6 from 2pm and meet for drinks at 4pm in The 108 Pub. D06 F6H9.
Rathgar is a leafy, affluent suburb in south Dublin, known for its elegant Georgian and Victorian architecture, tree-lined streets, and village-like charm. Originally developed in the 19th century as a residential area for Dublin’s middle and upper classes, it was once part of the larger Rathmines estate. The area has long been associated with culture and intellect, home to writers like James Joyce and playwright George Bernard Shaw. Today, Rathgar blends its historic character with a relaxed modern atmosphere, offering cafés, independent shops, and a strong sense of community.
If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at 2pm, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know over a drink from 4pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.
From 4pm, we'll gather for a drink and to enjoy each other’s sketches at The 108 Pub. A bunch of sketchers will magically appear.
