February 15th, Grafton Street, Dublin 2

On Sunday afternoon, the 15th of February we will sketch in Grafton Street.

Grafton Street is one of the two principal shopping streets in Dublin city centre, the other being Henry Street. The street was named after Henry FitzRoy, 1st Duke of Grafton, the illegitimate son of Charles II of England who owned land in the area.  The north end of the Street is most notable for the eighteenth-century Trinity College Provost’s House, home to the head of the college. Bewley’s Oriental Café is also a Grafton Street institution since its opening in 1927.

We will sketch from 2pm and at 4pm we will meet in the bar in The Hoxton, on the corner of Exchequer St and Georges St. I will ask them to keep a space for us.

If it’s your first time, please say hello; we’re a friendly bunch. Just bring your materials and look out for people with sketchbooks.
