Sunday 14 November - Trinity College

On Sunday 14th NovemberDublin Sketchers will sketch around Trinity College from 2pm.

I believe Trinity College has re-opened its doors to the public, so let's rediscover this oasis in the heart of the metropolis!

If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at your arrival, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know when we get together at 4pm. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.

Another option if you're in the area is the Irish Yeast Company, a beautiful 18th century building across from the Trinity Luas stop. Another endangered institution in Dublin. It seems to be in disrepair after planning permission was refused to Doyle's pub, after they had bought the property after its owner died in 2018.

Rather than meeting in a pub or coffee shop, we'll gather outdoors to catch up and check out each other's work. At 4pm, we'll meet near the cricket grounds at the back of Trinity College.  In case of rain, there are plenty of cafés nearby. Please keep in mind current government guidelines on Covid.

If you would like your sketch to be added to the website, email it to dublinsketchers@gmail.com or post it to the Dublin Sketchers Social WhatsApp group if you are on that. Please edit your image so that it is low res and properly oriented for posting to the website. If you're on Instagram, use #dublinsketchers #urbansketchers.

See you there!

We were delighted to meet the Sketchers who came all                                            the way from Gorey to spend the afternoon sketching with us.

We will definitely plan a day trip to Gorey and Courtown                                                     so that we can sketch with them again!

Dublin Sketchers Virtual Exhibition 2021

Dublin Sketchers Virtual Exhibition 2021

Dublin Sketchers are an urban sketching group

who meet on Sunday afternoons to draw.

Because of lockdowns due to Covid-19, we were not able

to meet for much of 2020 and 2021.

We were still drawing from home and in our local areas.

We hope you enjoy this virtual exhibition.

Many of the sketches featured are from the period

we were in lockdown or brief periods in between when

we could meet in person.

In terms of interacting with the virtual exhibition, you can view it on any device

although the best way is on a computer.

There is a mini-tour that will bring you around the gallery.

View the exhibition by using the controls at the bottom of the screen.

Click or tap on the ground to move around.

Click on a particular artwork to see the artist's name and further information.

If you are using a computer, use the arrow keys to navigate around the space.

We'll join you for a glass of wine at the end.

A big thank you to Mandy and Isoilde

who brought so much energy to making the exhibition happen.

Sketching from around the Georges St. Arcade. and nearby. on Sunday 31st. Oct. 2021.
