Japanese Drums
Dublin Sketchers get together every Sunday afternoon in Dublin to sketch. We go to a different place each week. Check here before hand to see where we are off to. Come along if you fancy it! We start sketching from 2pm and meet at 4pm for a drink and chat. We are part of the global Urban Sketchers community.

Sunday 11th April - Experience Japan, Farmleigh 2pm!
Hi all,
Well the most votes were for Phoenix Park - so Experience Japan it will be!
It sounds great anyhow so hopefully the weather will stay fine. Farmleigh is a fifteen-minute walk from the Castleknock Gate, which is where the event is being held. We will meet at Farmleigh House at 2pm!
The event runs until 4pm, so we will go for coffee then somewhere nearby.
Getting there by public transport: Take the number 37 bus from Hawkins Street to the Castleknock Gate. Enter the Phoenix Park and take the pedestrian pathway to your right. Following the directional signs, Farmleigh is a fifteen-minute walk from the Castleknock Gate. Car parking facilities are also available.
Everybody is welcome, have a sketchpad out if you haven't been sketching with us before and we'll make sure you're included!
See you there,
Tracy
Interesting doodling!

Well - that time of the week and we're looking for ideas of where to head for this Sunday. The weather has picked up and I think we should head for somewhere outdoorsy and hope for the best! It's been a long time coming!!
So.. ideas so far include:
- Blasphemous at IMOCA suggested by Caitriona
- Experience Japan suggested by Jennifer - " in phoenix park this sunday, it looks really good, there'll be cherry blossom viewing, different musical acts, lotsa stuff that would be great to draw, all events are free of charge its on from 12 until 4"
- Memorial Gardens or Trinity College - suggested by Aisling
- 40 Foot and Sandycove beach - suggested by Rory
All other ideas welcome too of course!!
Yippee for the sun!!

Marianne's Sketch - April 4th
Apologies for the mix up with the location, there was no notice that the Dublin City Hall would be closed on Easter Sunday! We will visit there again in the future. If anyone else has pics to put up please do - or email them to us if you'd like us to put them up for you!

Sunday 4th.April. Sketches from Church at Dublin Castle.
Change of Venue, City Hall was closed, a Tourist site had given the wrong info! We headed for Chester Beatty, but on the way we popped into the Church, and there we all stayed! This is a view of the beautiful Organ, I may go back and concentrate on a small detail the next time!
Sunday 4th April - Dublin City Hall
Well this Sunday it will be Dublin City Hall. Dublin Sketchers have only visited here once before and it was very interesting. It is also nice and central for Easter Sunday.
The Rotunda has free entry but there is also an interesting exhibition taking place for anyone who is interested, with a cover charge of €4 for adults (Senior Citizens: €2 (On production of travel pass etc.), Students: €2 (On production of student card) andUnwaged: €2)
Meet at 2pm, at the entrance (to the left as you look at the building!).
I won't be there this weekend as I'm off home for Easter! Happy Sketching!!

Ideas for Sunday?
I'm heading home for the weekend so I won't be about. Was disappointed to miss last weekend, was driving about for over 40mins trying to get parking before I gave up and went to the Glasnevin Graveyard!
Hope all those who were at the Botanics enjoyed it and please post images of your work if you can!
Tracy
