May 31st, Kingfisher Project, Kimmage D12

On Sunday, May 31st, we are invited to sketch in the Kingfisher Project sustainable community gardens in Kimmage, D12 W8C8. Located on the banks of the River Poddle, Kingfisher transformed what was once an underutilized urban public wasteland into a thriving, biodiversity-rich hub. The garden is also a collective educational resource, reintroducing nature into urban living. The thriving gardens provide ample urban nature sketching opportunities.

Getting there: Kimmage is serviced by bus routes 82, S2, 74, F1/F2/F3. Opposite the Pickles deli / Sundry laundry, a laneway leads directly to the garden gates. We will be met in the gardens with avid community members who will show us around. Thanks Caroline G for making this connection!

At 4pm we will meet at the Stone Boat pub to chat and share our sketches. If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone at 2pm, just choose something to sketch and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. It's a friendly crowd who you’ll get to know over a drink from 4pm. You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.
